Zoo America/Birthdays/Picnic at the Park

Saturday July 21, my Aunt Joann and Uncle Joe celebrated their 60th birthday!  They are my Mom's siblings, my Aunt we see and talk to often, she's close.  My uncle however lives farther away so we don't see him as much.  We went to my Aunts house to celebrate with her on Saturday, and then Sunday my Uncles party was!

who knew Giant could make Strawberry filled cakes??  It was good to!

Noah and Antonio
Then after cake, and talking of having nothing else to do for the rest of our Saturdays' we thought heck lets go to the zoo!  The kids will like seeing the animals, it will give us something to do, why not!  So off we went!

found the Slowsky's!

when we were getting a drink they were just coming on, the recycle people!  It was cool and the kids loved it!

Then we left there, and decided we would stop grab something to eat and go to the park and have a picnic!  It was so much fun!  The kids wanted nothing to do with stopping to eat, but they did end up eating their pizza, on the run!  They are too busy 2 year old boys what can I say!

see they did stop to eat!

no fear!

Sometimes I had to wonder who had more fun, the kids or the adults!
We had a awesome time, didn't leave there until after 7! Then we got home to find another surprise in the yard set up!
My Dad had gotten that at my Grandfather's Estate Sale, and that was over a year ago now and we kept forgetting about it!  The boy is part fish, part mexican jumping bean!  It was great, Noah fell asleep in record time, like 5 minutes when I took him back to bed!  He was beat!

Sunday I had to work 8-4, so Grammy and Poppy watched Noah for me.  They went to Aunt Chrissy and Aunt Danielle's for waffles and turkey bacon for breakfast and visited with them and Parker for the day until it was time to go to Uncle Joe's birthday party!
I just headed straight there after I got off work, it was Luau theme, fun!  Noah was running around having fun and annoying the little boys that live behind my Uncle! The one boy said "Oh here HE comes again." when he ran back there.  It was hilarious.  Seriously, you don't have a fence, you are two boys playing on a swing set, and he's a boy what did you think would happen?!  Apparently my Mom said their Mom wasn't the nicest looking person either, so thankfully after the 5th time he was back there he didn't go back again!
I had a nice evening, I wish I wouldn't have had to work, because I would have loved to see my nephew today, but I gotta do what I gotta do!Bills don't pay themselves!

I hope everyone had a great weekend as well!

Potty Training- UPDATE!!

It's been one week since I have started this WONDERFUL journey of potty training with Noah!  It has sure been interesting!  To say the least!  Recap of the first weekend was 3 accidents Saturday 2 pee 1 poop, 1 accident Sunday poop!  He did great for the first weekend!!

Monday through Friday is what I was worried about!  With being around his friends at school, and other distractions I wasn't sure how it would go!  But it went really well!  Monday through Wednesday all three days he had 2 accidents each day, 1 pee and 1 poop, Thursday he did not have any accidents at all until right before I got there!  His class was on the playground, and he's a busy guy and unless he's reminded will easily forget!  So he had one pee accident Thursday, and NO ACCIDENTS FRIDAY!!! YAY  that's my boy!!

He has done great all weekend this weekend with no accidents as well!  He just will not poop on the potty.
He did it the first day of potty training and then not again!  I don't know why, I can't even guess.  But I know that eventually he will do it, and if I keep making him think that I will be super mad at him for going in his pants he won't go at all and then we will have a worse problem on our hands!

I'm so proud to say that my son is about 90% potty trained!  I have been bribing him with that darn talking Buzz doll, which now he says he wants Woody!  lol Apparently it's not enough because he still hasn't gone again!  I know that he will when he's ready, I couldn't be more proud of him for the progress he has made thus far!  His Aunties' just gave him a Woody matchbox car for doing so well with going potty!  That's awesome! Everyone is so proud of him, he's doing better than I though he would honestly! Only wears protection at night and nap time now!  That's awesome!  And it's a Goodnights pullup/underwear type thing no diapers!! woo hoo!!

Awesome!!  Hopefully the next update will be him going poop on the potty!!!

Potty Training

Noah was sent home sick Friday morning from daycare with a 102.7 fever.  He wasn't himself, slept most all of the afternoon, told me he didn't want to eat, wouldn't take medicine.  He had me worried.  I managed to put a dose of medicine in water in his cup and he drank it down before he fell asleep, which only brought his temp down 1 degree...101.7 then.  He wouldn't take medicine so my Mom went on a hunt to find suppositories that are fever reducers.  Apparently they are miracles....he got one, ate so much dinner, acting himself again fever has left and *knock on wood* hasn't been back!  Strange I know, no other symptoms along with the fever, so that's good.

Since Noah's all better, we are doing Potty Training this weekend!  He's doing GREAT!  He woke up at 6am, and since 7:30 when I took diaper off and put on big boy underwear he has only had 2 accidents!  To make things even better he not only has been peeing on the potty but he also pooped on the potty to, not his little potty but the big potty!!!  I'm SOOOO proud of him!!  He's napping now, and from what I read I wasn't suppose to put a pull up or diaper on him for nap or bedtime, but I had to.  I put a pull up on him for nap, but I left his underwear on him and put the pull up over it. He peed before he went to bed and hasn't had a drink so maybe he'll stay dry *fingers crossed*.  Once he wakes back up we will be right back on the potty training wagon, hoping it sticks and he gets that click today.
Nap time he peed, of course cause the boy could pee a river even when he doesn't drink! Then he also peed once he was awake on the potty and got a fresh pair of underwear on! Then we went to my sisters, for Kailyn to meet Parker, which he wore a pull up OVER his underwear and went potty about 3 times there, or at least tried. Then we left there and went to Wal-Mart and he went potty there twice but didn't actually go and came home DRY!!!  That's my boy!  We got him Goodnights pull up things to wear to bed so we'll see how they hold up compared to Overnight diapers tonight!

SUNDAY JULY 15, 2012

Well last night he went to bed at like 11, and had a very bad night.  He was up by 1:45-3:30am, crying, flailing himself all around his bed, wanting his Poppy, wanting his Grammy, wanting Mommy, wanting Spiderman cover, wanting a cup, wanting Mommy's bed.  He was a HOT mess!  I honestly think he has some sort of night terrors, because he used to do this when he was younger to.  Thankfully by 3:30am he was fast asleep and I was snug back in my bed!
Needless to say, and thank God that he slept in till 8:15am!  Those Goodnight pull up type underwear are awesome, he was wet of course in the morning but not peed out.  So we got up, went potty and picked out underwear for the day!  He only has had one accident all day today, and that was a poop accident and I even kinda hate to call that a accident because most kids don't like to poop in the potty and that's the hardest thing to break.  But either way I guess it's a accident, and since it was the ONLY one today I couldn't be happier!
Today we didn't go to Church because of the night we had last night, I know it is NO excuse but I was not feeling like getting all ready to go be presentable around strangers lol.  So we opted to stay home.  We ended up going to the movies this afternoon, to see Ice Age Continental Drift.  Kailyn was here for the weekend, and she LOVED those movies growing up, she's 11 now, and since Noah has been doing so great on the potty it was kinda a reward for him as well!  It was his first theater movie,
This is how Noah starts a movie!

This is how Noah ends a movie!

Snoozing with Grammy!
We went pee before the movie started, and he went, we went after it was over because he woke up right after this and he went.  So he went home DRY again!
Then we went up to my Aunt Joann's to give Antonio a pair of sneakers we had gotten him last night when we were out.  Well he was in his pool swimming, so I pretty much knew that Noah was going to end up in the pool!  He did!  He loved it!
he sits on the edge......

and falls back.....

he LOVES it!  he loves the water!
he went potty there once, and went home DRY!  Love it!  He's doing great!  I couldn't be happier!

I packed like 4 or 5 outfits and the same underwear to send to school tomorrow in case of a accident.  I really think since he's doing so well at home, that he shouldn't have that many at school to be honest.  I was taking him to the potty yesterday every 15 minutes because that's the "direction" I was given from the blog I read, but today I just been taking him like 1/2 hr to hr somewhere in there.  Really in some cases probably longer than that.  He of course isn't to the point to say "Mommy I have to Pee" so I can't rely on that, but that will come with time right now it's new and he just needs constant reminding.
I also was told in the blog I got this idea from to not use pull ups since they pull moisture away, go straight to big boy underwear so that's what I did!  Noah go so many from his Aunties for Christmas thank God they still fit.  That blog also said not to use a diaper or pull up for nap or bedtime to use underwear and prepare for a mess so plastic covers etc.  Well, I'm sorry I know Noah and even if he doesn't have a drink 2 hrs before bed he's still going to manage to pee some how I don't know where it comes from so I am cheating in that dept!  He has worn his underwear with a pull up over top for a nap Saturday, just so if he did pee (which he did) he would know the wet feeling.  For bed he's using the Goodnights underwear, they are like big kid pull ups for overnight.  These ones have Spiderman on them so he thinks they are extra special bedtime underwear! I know that when he's sleeping, that I can't yet expect him to be able to control that, now once he's dry for a while, then yes he'll go to bed in underwear but until then I want to keep my sanity!  It's not doing any harm, heck I'm putting a pull up over top of his underwear when we went away to, JUST because I don't want a mess in the car seat, and I mean if it's going to happen (a accident) then it's going to happen, so I'm going to try to protect what I can the best I can!  At home, if he has a accident then so be it, but at home he's just wearing a shirt and his underwear so that's not more that underwear to wash if you catch my drift!

I think we are getting somewhere!  I was SO bummed when I got a phone call to go pick him up Friday cause he had a fever.  I said I guess no potty training this weekend!  Well guess what, for whatever reason the fever only last one day, came with nothing else and he was fine by Friday night so potty training was started!  I'm so happy and so proud of my big little man!!

Playgrounds Galore!

This week the weather isn't as super hot as it has been so Noah and I have been going to the playground every night after work!  Tonight was actually the first night we didn't go and that was only because we went to visit Parker and my sister instead!
This weekend we are going to be putting more focus on potty training....hopefully we can make a little more progress!  Today he went to the potty twice at school, that's a BIG improvement!  We are getting somewhere!
Some pictures of our week!
He has no fear, I'm telling you!  Growing up way to fast!

"Mommy look here comes a airplane."
The above playground is at a school, Noah likes to go there, it's quiet there is never anyone else there, so it's perfect when you aren't really feeling like dealing with a bunch of people and kids!
I gotta tell everyone, this is a monumental picture!  Noah has been going to this playground for 2 years and this is the first time he has gone down this slide!  It's a tube slide and I think he was scared of it!  But he LOVED it!  This was at Sunset Park.
Finally Wednesday we met Noah's buddy from daycare Emerson and his Mommy at a playground in Hummelstown!
Yes, that would be the boys finding ants.....

We have been having a lot of fun this week!  Noah has been wore out and falling asleep within about 20 minutes!  That's awesome compared to his usual 45 minutes!  I love spending time with him and seeing him having so much fun, he loves to run!  He has SO much energy as most 2 year olds do, so it's nice to take him somewhere for him to be able to wear some of it out!

Tonight we went to visit with my sister and Mr Parker!  He's getting cuter by the day!  I love him like my own!

I miss the little things like this, cute little things baby's do.

This boy is going to be tall, his legs are long and his feet are huge! lol But he's adorable!

I am so glad that tomorrow is Friday, this has been the longest week ever!  Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Stay-cation

This week I have been on vacation, with the exception of Monday which I had to work and Noah had to go to daycare.  Tuesday through Sunday we are off!  The time has actually gone slow, but I cannot believe that it's Saturday night already and tomorrow is my last day off!  I'm sure Monday is not going to be a easy drop off for Noah, since he hasn't been to daycare for a week!
I really wanted to go somewhere, but there really wasn't anywhere to go.  In September we might be going to the beach.  On my Dad's Birthday he's going to Dover to drive the race car.  My Mom had gotten him that gift for Christmas and one of the dates to do it happened to be his birthday, so he chose then!  We thought that we might go from there to the beach for a few days.  It's not definite totally yet, but we'll see!  Then we were just going to go up to camp, but then with the heat, we would basically be living in the river, which really is ok but not my idea of a great time so everyone decided not to go.  So it was a Stay-cation!  I'm totally fine with that!  We had fun just the same!
I spent my first night and day of vacation in the hospital though.  I went in Monday evening with chest discomfort, which was going on since the weekend.  I had this same thing before but Google can do awful things to your mind when you look up certain things like that!  So needless to say, I wanted peace of mind so Mom took me in to get checked out.  They did a EKG in the ER and all the normal other things, then they got me into a room, changed into a gown, hooked up to monitors, IV in, blood work drawn.  Then when the Dr came in he said they would be admitting me overnight at least to have me do a stress test in the morning.  So I sent my Mom home to make sure Noah wasn't giving my Dad a hard time, which I figured he wasn't.  I would have rather her been home with him then sleeping sitting up in a chair with me all night!  I was in the ER all night, they never moved me from there so it wasn't the quietest place ever.  But I did manage to get a few hours of sleep and then bright and early before 8 am they were coming to take me to do the stress test and Echo.  That was the most uncomfortable thing to do ever, but I did what I had to do and everything came out great!  As the Dr said my heart is "golden" so it's apparently just anxiety or stress that's giving me these pains not anything heart related which is GREAT news!  They were testing my blood for a hormone that shows up when your having a heart attack and they have to do the 4 tests I guess a few hours apart for each and all of them were clear.  Heck I didn't even know there was such a thing, I knew on a EKG they could tell if you were having one but didn't know that.  So thankfully I'm good, and got out of there in time to still enjoy my vacation and the 4th of July!
The paparazzi is even at the hospital!

he was incognito, on his play phone saying "hello, I'm just screwing around." lol
We went to my Aunt Karen's for a 4th of July picnic!  It was fun, Noah went swimming, we had good food, good company to!

I hate this thing, but Mr. Independent needs to wear it!

Aunt Karen getting them with water balloons, guess she ran out!
We  had a lot of fun there, it was pretty hot but the pool kept us cool!  Parker was there to!  He's so handsome!

waiting with a water balloon.....wonder who he's gonna get?!?!
Later that night we went into Hershey to see the Fireworks!  I was excited because this was actually the first year that we were home, and Noah was awake to take him to see them!  Usually we are at camp, and there are some people there that have some but that's not the same, and Noah is usually wore out and sleeping before they even start!  Noah really could have cared less, I think he was tired, but he held up for them and did great!
On the way!  His shirt even says Mommy's little firecracker!

We did some random dancing to The Fresh Beat Band, he recently started watching some Nick Jr shows sometimes, since most of the Sprout shows are repeats, and he likes most of them!  He's not much of a TV kid, but when it settle down and relax time he can definitely get into it!  He likes The Fresh Beat Band, and Wow Wow Wubzy the best!  He likes to grab his Wiggles guitar, and stand in front of the TV shaking his little butt and pretending to be playing his guitar along with the band!  It's pretty awesome!

Since I was stuck in the hospital Tuesday, and the plans my sister and I had got broken.  Noah and I went over Thursday instead!  We pretty much spent the day with my sister and Parker, until Danielle got home from work, then we left so their little family could be alone!  It was nice to spend some time alone with my sister and our boys!

Nice choice of clothing Parker ;)
Friday was my Parents 38th Wedding Anniversary!  WOW 38 years, that's a long time!  As they say "38  glorious years."  So we didn't really do to much, it was hot, they didn't really want to do anything, my Dad made a big pot of chicken corn soup outside in a cast iron pot he had gotten from his Dad.  It was and is the most delicious soup!  My sister, Danielle and Parker came over for dinner Friday night.  My Aunt Joann also is here for the weekend as well.  All in all it was a great day!  Parkers first visit to our house, showed some jealousy from Noah.  But I think he'll be ok!

I'll tell you, Noah is trying at times now, and I really don't know if it's just the age, or a combination of his age and daycare or what.  But I have thoroughly enjoyed this week!  I wish I could be home with him everyday of every week!  I have a feeling that Monday won't be the best drop off, so my plan is to get there early in case it is hard to be able to leave!  I'm hoping I'm wrong but you know usually after a few days away from daycare it's hard to get back into the swing of things!
I have been working on his with potty training, which it seems one day he does great and the next he could care less about it.  I know that he'll do it when he's ready but he's been asking about going to the potty more and more, and so I thought maybe just maybe this would be the time!  But it's not perfect, maybe a little more pushing and he'll be sure to get it and stick with it.  He sees I get frustrated and that doesn't help so I guess I need to just brush it off and let it be what it will be!  He's doing ok I guess for the busy, VERY busy 2 1/2  year old that he is!  I'm surprised he can take time to blink sometimes!
He's still amazing me all the time, he's getting more and more independent every single day, everything is "I want to do it, I do it."  He gets easily frustrated, but what kid doesn't I guess.  He's getting to be that age when he's starting to do cool things like, he most recently started putting on a bag, either the reusable bag he uses to take his daycare stuff back and forth of his thirty one bag he uses for his water play stuff, and putting it on his arms to be on his back and run around yelling "I'm a super guy!"  Or "I'm a Super hero!"  So today at Target I found a little set that was a mask and wrist things for super hero's, and so I got it for him, he likes it, but he's not too fond of the mask.  I tried to take his picture but he knows it so he won't let me!  He's so funny!
Today we went shopping for new shoes, he needed new sandals, and decided himself that he also needed sneakers.  So he ended up with both new sneakers and sandals!  He wanted these awful Batman sneakers, that had this big gaudy plastic piece over the laces, then he seen the Spiderman ones that were the same but a web over the laces, THANKFULLY Grammy came to the rescue and found a cute pair of Nike's and said Noah how about these, see this swoosh that means they will make you go really fast!  So needless to say, we tried them on, he ran around and didn't want to take them off!  Thank you Grammy for saving the day!  I let him pick out what he likes, I mean I don't care, you want light up Spiderman sneakers, fine.  I mean your only young once right?  But that big gaudy plastic thing was a big ridiculous!  We did a little running around today and then came home, went swimming a little bit, then in for a nap.  Then back out swimming, then in until the storm passed, then back out for a little!

The sky wasn't the creepy looking....lol
Well tomorrow, Sunday is the last day of our vacation, or shall I say Stay-cation.  I must say that it was the best!  I enjoyed spending time with my awesome son, my great parents, my sister and her new precious son Parker and just being around family in general.  It has been great and I can't wait until the next one!

I HOPE EVERYONE HAD A WONDERFUL 4TH OF JULY!
